HUGE Announcement
Hello Everyone!
Chris here. Just wanted to share some big news with you as it pertains to F/A Brotherhood. A little over 3 years ago, I begged God for someone to start a group for foster and adoptive dad's as I needed some serious help. Well, God has a funny sense of humor and after months of praying, He told me I was the guy. I gave him 1 million reasons why I wasn't the guy, but he declined my excuses. So, here's F/A Brotherhood and how it began.
The past 3 years have been awesome and I hope you guys are finding yourself engaged, equipped, and encouraged as our core values state. I want to share with you a HUGE announcement.
Ryan Nachtigal is now the Executive Director of F/A Brotherhood!!!

I'm sure there are a lot of questions, so let me start by thanking Ryan for taking this role on. Ryan has 11 children in his home and has seen over 60 foster children come through his home. Ryan is a very creative, very intuitive person and I'm grateful that he has accepted this role. Ryan has been very active on the F/A Brotherhood website and is a founding member of the F/A Brotherhood Vision Team who ensures we are in line with our core values and that your questions are being answered on the page.
So now on to some questions you may have...
Did Chris do something wrong? Whenever a shift in leadership comes, rumors tend to spread. The answer to this question is, no, I didn't do anything wrong. I have 3 kids, and while they are not angels by any stretch of the imagination, I don't have the experience needed in order to help everyone with everything they are dealing with. Ryan has seen just about everything and he is much more suitable for the job.
Was this decision a spur of the moment decision? Again, the answer is no. Ryan and I have been chatting for over a year about this possibility, and I have sharing a lot of vision with him. Also, Ryan has been involved in our Board Meetings for the past 3 quarters to get a feel for what that looks like and what his role will be in that regard. I've been in the business world long enough to know that a succession plan is needed as soon as possible and that was the way I worked it since meeting Ryan.
What is Chris' role going to be moving forward? I will still be in the group, but will be hands off on the day to day work minus some blog posts every now and then. Also, due to my experience in non-profits, I will be taking on a CEO role on the Board, meaning I will work closely with Ryan to develop Board Meeting material, so on and so forth. While I will be working closely with Ryan on the board meetings, I am going to stay back from any day-to-day or vision-casting to give Ryan the creative freedom to bring in new thoughts or ideas.
